Tutorial

Overview

This multimedia web-based course is divided into four independent units, each one developed by a renowned expert. Each unit consists of modules that include text, images, audio and videos, as well as references and a self-assessment test for CME credits.

Each unit is further divided into modules that contain a mixture of text, images, streamed video to demonstrate surgical techniques; self-assessment and bibliographic references

A fifth unit contains clinical cases that participants are expected to comment on and debate in the online discussion forum. Case-based discussions will take place asynchronously via the threaded discussions. Users can read and post messages when it is convenient for you.

Registration
Two types of registration are possible. To browse through the course without wishing to participate fully and apply for credits, complete the SHORT REGISTRATION.

If you register to participate fully in the course and apply for CME credits, you need to complete the FULL REGISTRATION. A list of members of the virtual classroom will be available to fellow learners and you will be able to share personal contact information.

Your Participation
The course requires about 2 hour per week over eight weeks. Your participation, particularly in the FORUM will be important to create the atmosphere of a virtual classroom and connect with other users.

Users can complete the units in any order but should follow the modules in the order presented in each unit. Once all modules have been seen, you can revisit and review any part.

A bookmarking tool allows you to pinpoint pages of specific interests that you can find again easily.

A note-taking tool allows you to make notes and comments and attach them to specific pages of the course.

Both these features can be accessed through MY CORNER.

TRACKING keeps note of your progress through the course. For this, your computer must accept cookies.

Navigation
The course can be best viewed in full screen mode. You can usually do this by pressing the F11 key on you keyboard. Pressing F11 a second time will return your screen to normal.

On the left-hand menu all the course content is listed.
