Unit 1: Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC): Diagnosis

This unit summarizes epidemiological data on renal cancer as well as clinical presentations and diagnostic tools. Special emphasis has been put on the modern imaging methods as MRI.

Unit 2: Surgical treatment of RCC: Radical Nephrectomy

This unit details the standard (surgical) treatment of renal cancer. Anatomy of both kidneys and different surgical approaches are described. The surgery of renal cancer with caval trombus (although rare in non-referral centres) is briefly described.

Unit 3: Surgical treatment of RCC: Nephron Sparing Surgery (NSS)

Although not yet considered as a standard approach, NSS for renal cancer is gaining popularity. A description of the technique as well as of some of the different tools and tricks used in this surgery are dealt with in this unit.

Unit 4: Surgical treatment of Renal Cancer: Laparoscopic Approach
