Barcelona, June 21, 2007 - The American Diabetes Association launches a dynamic new service for health professionals produced by Prous Science called DiabetesPro (www.diabetes.org/pro). An online resource of the American Diabetes Association, Diabetes Pro provides a new way to search and retrieve basic and clinical diabetes information and to earn and track continuing education credits.

Irl Hirsch, MD, was involved in some initial testing of this new web tool and believes it makes information retrieval much faster and easier. "Diabetes Pro is a really exciting and innovative advance by the ADA", said Dr. Hirsch. "I think users are going to be really impressed with how much easier it is to find the information they're looking for. In fact, a lot of times I've found information I didn't even know ADA had available".

Diabetes Pro takes the place of the Association's professional section website, but it represents a much more significant change than just a reorganization of content. Diabetes Pro allows for instantaneous and seamless cross-searching of many different types of content, including journal articles, abstracts, webcasts, clinical trial data, and more.

Diabetes Pro was developed by the American Diabetes Association with the assistance of Prous Science, a global scientific information provider. In addition to the professional education content provided by the ADA, Prous science also contributes an extensive database of clinical trial information, medical animations, daily medical news, and congress reports.
